聖書ルカによる福音書、マルタとマリアのお話です。
一同が旅を続けているうちに、イエスがある村へはいられた。 するとマルタという名の女がイエスを家に迎え入れた この女にマリヤという妹がいたが、主の足もとにすわって、御言に聞き入っていた。 ところが、マルタは接待のことで忙がしくて心をとりみだし、イエスのところにきて言った、 「主よ、妹がわたしだけに接待をさせているのを、なんともお思いになりませんか。 わたしの手伝いをするように妹におっしゃってください」。 主は答えて言われた、「マルタよ、マルタよ、あなたは多くのことに心を配って思いわずらっている。 しかし、無くてならぬものは多くはない。いや、一つだけである。マリヤはその良い方を選んだのだ。 そしてそれは、彼女から取り去ってはならないものである」。 ルカによる福音書 第10章38-42節
皆のために食事の用意をしなければいけないと思って、
せっかくの大き過ぎる機会を逃した姉のマルタ。
しっかりと天からのチャンスを得て、神様の心情に適った妹のマリア。
私は初めてこの話を読んだ時は、
「えっ?! お姉さんの方が皆のために働いたのに?!」と、混乱していましたが、
でも御言葉を通して、
「この世の日常に縛られて、一番大切なことを見失うことがあってはならない」のだと、
理解出来ました。
むしろ食事を作る手を止めて、イエスの御言葉を聞いて悟り、
霊的に成長することが彼女にとって最も必要なことだった。
ところが、マルタにはこのことが全く分からなかった。人間的な考えに縛られて、皆のために世話をする方が尊いと、
偽善的な考えに縛られてしまっていた。
あなたたちもマルタのように、自分の古い考えに縛られて、私が全く喜ばないことをし、私の心情に適わないことをすることが余りにも多い。

実はごく最近、
自分もマルタになっている事案があることに気づきました。
この世の感覚で考えたら、それをする事は、
確かに誰か数人のお役には立てているかもしれませんが、
使った時間も労力も、
単にこの世から見た偽善的な考えであり、
神様の心情には合っていないと気づいたのです。
「何人かには喜んでもらえているのだし、
私も頑張っているのだから…」と考えていた自分が、
本当にマルタのようで、気づいた時には愕然としましたが💦、
たまたま復習と思って手にしたこの御言葉によって、
ピッタリの回答を得られたことに、心から感謝して、
早速きっちりと軌道修正していきたいと思いました。
あなたの考え、あなたの感情は、すべて私の目から見ると無駄だから切り捨てなさい。

The Gospel according to the Bible Luke, the story of Martha and Mary.
Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lord’s feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Old sister Martha , who missed an opportunity that was too big for her
because she felt she had to prepare a meal for everyone.
Mary, the younger sister,
who firmly took the opportunity from heaven and suited God's sentiments.
When I first read this story I thought,
"What? Your sister was doing more for everyone."
But after studying the Word of God,
I came to understand that we should not be so bound up in the daily routine of this world
that we lose sight of what is most important.
Rather, it was most necessary for her to stop cooking meals and listen to Jesus' Word to realize and grow spiritually.
Martha, however, did not understand this at all.She was bound by humanistic and hypocritical ideas that it was more noble to care for everyone.
Too often you, like Martha, are bound by your old ideas and do things that do not please me at all, things that do not suit my sentiments.

In fact, very recently, I finally realized that I have a case like Martha's.
Given our worldly sensibilities, doing so could certainly useful a few people.
I realized that the time and effort I spent was simply a hypocritical idea from the world's perspective
and not in line with God's sentiments.
I was astonished when I realized that I was really like Marta, thinking,
"Some of them would be delighted and I'm doing my best…" 💦.
But I am truly grateful that I happened to get a perfect answer through this God's word
that I picked up as a review,
and I would like to correct the course of my life as soon as possible.
All your thoughts, all your feelings, are useless in my eyes, so cut them out.

and live according to the Word of God so that I can be conformable to God's will.
